Partnership Pathways

Wisconsin eSchool Network’s flexible programs are designed for the digital classroom whether it's fully online or one of many blended learning models. We offer two access points: Invested (governing partners) and Affiliate pathways.

Invested Partners

Invested Partners make a significant one-time investment that provides the lowest operating expenses of any Pathway and a voting seat on the WEN board of directors. Invested Partners are building scalable digital learning programs to support growing online enrollments, increased use of student devices on campus, and greater integration of digital content and instruction in the classroom. Invested Partners have made significant initial investments in human capital and in financial resources to purchase online courses, license and develop technology infrastructure and build processes that are the foundation of the network.

Affiliate Partners

Affiliate Partners have access to WEN’s online course catalog, licensed teachers, technology tools, student orientation courses, and professional learning while benefiting from lower cost, scalable enrollment fees. The Affiliate membership allows districts to retain a high degree of local control, using a combination of local instructors with online teachers from Network partners as needed. Most of WEN’s current Affiliate district members are small to medium-sized school districts, ranging from less than 1,000 students to nearly 7,000 students, and most are in the process of developing cohesive and comprehensive online learning plans.

How do I know if WEN is a good fit for us?

Assess whether a WEN Partnership is right for you. Partnership with WEN is ideal for districts with a comprehensive vision for online and blended learning that includes an emphasis on local autonomy and use of both shared and local teachers and staff.

If you can answer "yes" to these questions, it’s very likely WEN is a perfect fit:

  • Do you have a vision/mission for adopting digital learning over time in your district/organization?
  • Are you willing to designate a local leader/staff person along with local teachers to grow your program?
  • Does your board, administration/leadership, and staff have a commitment to build online and blended learning program offerings for your students.
  • Are you committed to implementing student supports to increase their online and blended learning experience?
  • Do you value collaboration and consortium work? (Remember, WEN is not a vendor.)
  • Are you committed to a multi-year journey of continuous improvement?
  • Are you willing and committed to work through the tough questions, policies, and operations of implementing a digital program for long term sustainability?
