The Wisconsin eSchool Network, Inc. (WEN) a co-founding partner of the Wisconsin Digital Learning Collaborative represents Wisconsin educational partners coming together in a strategic way to collaborate and provide influence over the online and digital learning environment. It enables partnering administrators, program leaders, teachers, and students to leverage an evolving set of tools to support digital learning based on local objectives. The mission of the Wisconsin eSchool Network is to provide access to quality digital learning resources and instructional practices while maximizing autonomy to meet learner needs.
WEN provides cloud-based infrastructures including but not limited to a course registration and management portal, learning management system, owned online content, licensed content from multiple vendors, the ability for partners to build local digital content, support tools and services, training materials, and professional learning curriculum and resources.
These assets evolve to meet the needs of the collaborative partners. WEN currently has 13 Invested Partners making up the Board of Directors responsible for the governance of WEN Inc. WEN has adopted the Coherent Governance Model and operates as an incorporated 501 (c)(3) with the Director reporting to the Invested Partner Governing Board and overseeing all staff and operations of WEN Inc.
WEN is a membership-based organization with two access points: Invested Partnerships (governing partners) and Affiliate Partnership pathways. A third pathway to access the same toolset is made available via Wisconsin Virtual School and this is known as the Supplemental Pathway as part of the Wisconsin Digital Learning Collaborative.
